Found via another new favorite blog - Shakes Quill ... Definition #2 hits a little too close to home. I'd sure rather be called a pettifogger than an annoying has-to -be-right-all-the-timer ... not that I've ever been called that ... out loud.
PS: if you say pettifogger really fast, it sounds like a bad word
